Autumn in the Languedoc: Top things to do near La Souqueto Accomodation
Autumn is one of the most beautiful times to experience the Languedoc, with warm days, golden vineyards and peaceful villages. La Souqueto’s boutique B&B, apartment and gîte offer the perfect base for exploring the region at its calmest and most colourful.
The Autumn colours have been just so vivid this year and with temperatures reaching in the early 20’s we are able to continue enjoying the ‘outside’. We’ve taken long walks with our friends and bike rides along the Voir vert and Canal du Midi. We’ve had some long awaited rain but still the ground is firm under foot.
There are so many things to see and do in the Minervois during September through to November:
Vineyard Walks & Wine Tasting
Autumn is harvest season and the Minervois vineyards glow with colour. Enjoy tastings at local family-run estates, explore the wine routes of Minervois, La Clape and Corbières, or take a scenic walk from our village Mirepeisset.
⸻
Medieval Villages Without Crowds
Visit nearby gems such as Minerve, Lagrasse and Carcassonne, all beautifully quiet in autumn. Cooler temperatures make wandering cobbled streets, browsing craft shops and taking photos even more enjoyable.
⸻
Perfect Time for Walking
This season is ideal for outdoor lovers. Popular routes include the Canal du Midi, Gorges du Caroux, the Montagne Noire, and coastal paths around Gruissan and La Clape. We can recommend walks for every level.
⸻
Autumn Markets & Local Produce
Browse lively markets in Narbonne, Lézignan and Pézenas, filled with figs, mushrooms, chestnuts, olives and new-season honey. Bring back ingredients to enjoy in your apartment or gîte.
⸻
Peaceful Mediterranean Coast
Warm sea, dramatic sunsets and quiet beaches make autumn perfect for trips to Gruissan, Narbonne Plage, Leucate or Collioure.
